First Day of School!

First of all...I realize that the picture of Jackson is sideways, but I don't know how to change it, so if anyone knows, let me know!!
Today was Jackson's first day of Kindergarten! The past couple of days, he's been very excited about going. Since the meet the teacher night, he's been very impressed with the lockers and computers in the classroom. Today, as we walked to school, I told him that I remembered my first day of kindergarten. Then he said, "I remember my first day of kindergarten too--today!!" He laughed and he was in good spirits.
When we walked up to the school, we saw his friend Will, who will be joining him in kindergarten, so we snapped them together.
When he got into the classroom, he put his backpack in his locker (who he shares with Jensen, who we thought was a boy, but ends up being a girl!!) and they were to sit at their table and draw a picture of anything that they wanted to. The classroom was so quiet. I couldn't believe it! No one was talking to one another---I'm sure that will change when they all get to know each other.
Last night, we reviewed where everything was in his backpack...lunch, snack, water bottle. They eat lunch at 10:30!! Can you believe that? So, we have to send a water bottle and snack every day.
It was a fun morning and if you think about it, say a little prayer for him. He said he might be a little scared today....that's what he told me last night. I told him it was okay to be scared and that a lot of other kids were feeling the same way. Say a little prayer for me too......tomorrow, we cannot walk them to the classroom. They have to walk in the school by themselves. MUSHY MOM MOMENT ALERT.....I just cannot believe how time has flown by and how big he is. Not in size, but in character and independence. He is a great little boy and has made our lives so much more fuller. I am just so humbled and privleged to be his mom :)

He looks so grown-up! I know he'll have an amazing first day! You and Jason are such good parents--that has enabled him to be who he is! Love you all!

WOW! How did that happen? I thought he was only 2 or 2 1/2 years old. This is one of those moments in life that no parent will ever forget, even if there weren't 100 pictures. A new day has begun and his life is expanding exponentially. I pray the Prayer of Jabez for him everyday and it seems to be working.

Oh my gosh, how is it that we are at this point with our babies?? I could just cry seeing Jackson with his big backpack on! :(
I was thinking about both you and Jackson this morning. I hope he will love his new school and friends! And I hope you aren't too sad!
Think of Ty tomorrow....

P.S. When you want to flip a picture you need to rotate it on your computer (wherever the file is)before you upload it to blogger.

Angie,
Everything you mentioned about Jackson's first day is exactly how I have felt today with Ansley. Where has the time gone for them to go from tiny babies to school age kids?
I, too, am anxious to let her walk alone into her school tomorrow. I imagine there is a lot of prayers that will be coming out of our mouths for these children as they grow in independence.
I am so glad his first day went well!

Hi, time flies when you are having fun. I remember when Granny B and I came to Texas to see him. He was a little thing with lots of black hair. He will love Kindergarten and they will love him.

I feel as if I had been there with you. Jackson looks so handsome and ready to absorb mountains of knowledge. I can't wait to hear all about school! Drew and Mom look pretty excited and handsome, too! Hugs and kisses around!
